Thumbs down missing rear anti-torsion / sway bar bracket?

During my recent 7,500 mile, multi-point inspection, the Ford technician detected a missing driver rear anti-torsion / sway bar bracket and it’s two bolts missing. Is it possible that Ford forgot to install this in production?

JSM, I do not believe that Ford forgot to install it, rather the bolts were not tightened down sufficiently, or were loosened by the coach builder and they failed to re-tighten them. This has been an ongoing problem with the rear anti-sway bar on some Ford 22K chassis. You did not advise what year and brand motor home that you have.

If your rig is still under Fords warranty, they will either send the bracket and bolts to you or to a Ford dealer of your choice. Ford did exactly that for a friend of mine. May I suggest that you search the Ford forum on IRV2 for additional information. Also you said that Ford tech noticed the missing bracket and bolts; he should be able to order replacements.

Thanks you CoastieSCPO, for your response. My 2011 Georgetown 300FWS (with 208 x 20.5K chassis) is currently undergoing regular 7,500 maintenance, the recent Ford 12S27 safety recall for the transmission range indicator assembly, & an A/C (not) cooling issue. It was during the multipoint inspection that the Ford tech discovered the missing anti-sway bar issue & the Service Advisor left a phone message informing me of the missing anti-sway bar issue & that they had ordered the parts for me. The anti-sway bar has now arrived but, the bolts are still on back-order & Ford Motor Co. has not shared the availability date for the bolts with Future Ford Fleet Service. I am waiting to hear from the Service Advisor that the bolts have arrived & was just wondering if I am likely to be charged for the parts/labor of the new anti-sway bar when I am notified that my MH's maintenance & repairs have been completed.

CoastieSCPO update. Found 2011 Ford F-53 Rear Suspension TSB-- "rear stabilizer bar bushing bracket may have loose or broken bolts". Issue is covered under warranty. Thanks again.
