Monaco to a Tiffin

We have been asked if we are interested in moving up from our 2007 Cayman XL - (37PBD with 32k miles) to a 2010 Phaeton (40QTH with 10k miles). The person proposing the deal wants our Cayman and the owner of the Phaeton wants a larger machine. Both of the machines are in above average condition.
We are interested because we would go from 2 slides to 4, we would have a 3 year newer machine with 20K less miles, and we would gain 3' in length with it's increase in space.
If they are truly in comparable condition how much more would the Phaeton be worth than the Cayman. Let's assume the Cayman is valued at $90,000.

As a guide, go to www.nadaguides.com to look up values.

I would give the same advice with one caveat. The value of any vehicle will vary from location to location, and even from person to person or from week to week. Any item is only worth what someone else is willing to pay regardless of what the book says.

That being said, however, NADA book values are usually helpful in determining relative values of vehicles. Since the OP has made an assumption of the value of his old motorhome, the NADA Guide should provide a relative value of the Tiffin.

I would suggest you register at tiffinrvnetwork.com and read thru the comments in their forums. Phaetons have had issues with the fiberglass roof cracking on the radius, rotting floors, wet bay issues and more. Granted, the factory will fix many issues well out of warranty at no charge, but it gets to be a love/hate relationship. I owned an '09 Phaeton 40QTH and loved it for the 18 months we owned it. When the economy caught up, we had to sell it and get our 2 slide Dynasty. Loved the Phaeton but the Dynasty is built better and handles much better.
