Monaco Windsor 1997 and similar suspension bushings

All,

It is almost impossible to find suspension bushings for 1997 Monaco Windsor. these would probably work on other Monacos. If they fail it is dangerous, the rear end literally slides off the frame. Steering might be impossible. If you have an older monaco with original bushings you should change them now.

When your bushings begin to go, the rear end makes noise and feels like it is sliding around. The front end squeaks, makes a lot of noise and vibrates.

There are horizontal arms the keep the body lined up with the chassis. When those bushings go the frame pushes the fiberglass out about 6" and damages stuff.

It did mine and it drives like a new cruise ship. The difference is night and day. If your monaco is in decent shape it is well worth it.

You can get bushings here:

The 3/4x6" grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers are incredibly expensive everywhere but are inexpensive at Menards

Changing them is a real bear. You need a real grunt truck shop. You do not want to do this outside or by yourself without serious tools to saw, cut, bang out the rusty old bolts. You have to be a contortionist to get to some of them. It will run about $2,400-$3,000 to keep your monaco out of the junk yard.
