When my Cat took a dump I bought a low mileage rv salvage engine for $10kAnd paid the Cat house $10k for installation and miscellaneous stuff.
The salvage yard did not require a used engine be traded in.
I kept all the accessories off the bad engine so I’ll never need a alternator, water pump, ecm, injection pump, etc
