Go 55 and you will get rear ended. Run at least 60-62 and no issue. I was in my 32' RV pulling a 14' trailer going 65 on Hwy 99 yesterday and a CHP went right by. I saw at least 4 cars pulled over by them yesterday. No RV or trucks. And, stay in the slow lane or that will give them 2 two reasons to stop you, that will make the difference. WE have lane control when towing except when noted.

I do like California as it has so much beauty. I lived in Pleasanton for 20 years and enjoyed it so much. Probably the best 20 years of my life. Well..... now that I am retired this is a pretty good time period.
I was traveling I5 from Bakersfield area to Monterey and it seemed like we RV'ers and trucks were contributing to traffic long jam for the cars. I did put my cruse on 60 to 62 and that stayed up with most of the trucks.

Thanks for everyone's input.

More than likely you will not be messed with doing 60, however I do know a few truck drivers that have received tickets for going 56. In California the speed limit for towing and 3axle or more vehicles is 55.

In the end it really just depends on which officer you encounter and how their day/week has been going.

Drive the speed you can afford. Just follow the trucks, with a couple in front of you. The police may just pick one of them instead of you. Its like they say, you cant catch all the fish, so they settle for one.
