Is the Safe T Plus something that I could install myself. I have plenty of heavy duty tools from working on farm equipment.

You bet. I think it's one of the easier DIY handling improvements around. It's basically a heavy duty spring housed in what looks like a large shock absorber. Each end of it just bolts on. The trick is to get the wheels pointed straight forward when you secure it down. You'll have to do some trial and error.
The way it works is that the spring resists turning in either direction and attempts to hold the wheels straight and true. When you want to turn, your power steering can easily overcome the spring tension but normal causes of road wander will not.
Install it and test drive it. If it still feels like it's pulling to one side or the other you'll have to do some fine tuning by loosening the bolts just a bit and nudging the mounting bracket one way or the other... followed by another test drive.
I love mine.
