I have a motorhome protection plan. It's my Capital One $12,000 Visa card. Cost me nothing if I don't use it. If I do have to, it's cheaper than an extended warranty.

The only person I have ever talked to that was TRUELY happy with a warranty plan was a friend with a 2006 Newmar Mountain Aire that had a Good Sam plan at $186 a month, a $1000 deductible, and roadside assistance. He claimed to be ahead of the insurance company, but last I talked to him, due to Covid and his coach at the factory for some siding warranty repairs for 5 months, and still paying $186 a month, they got ahead of him by about $3,000. Since Newmar was replacing the siding under warranty, but he had to pay for the paint, he tried to get the warranty company to pay for it. NOPE. And as he put it, he really has had more non covered repairs than covered, as most were under $1,000.

We did alright on our plan. Came out ahead of what we paid. The company was a rip off con job just like all of them. But we managed to come out to the positive. We had a $0 deductible plan, so that helped. The excuses for not covering something were incredible. In a fair world these con artist would be in jail for selling these policies with all their exceptions to paying for something.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

I'm not a fan of extended warranties on RVs! I know some folks say they have come out way ahead with them, but I think they would be a small minority. Those companies leave themselves too many loopholes to get out of paying your claims. I believe that, in most cases, you will come out waaay ahead by putting that same amount of money into a special bank account to be used only for RV repairs. JMHO

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
