Motorhome ToDo List
From reading these post for the last year I have noticed that there are a lot of things that need to be kept track of on a motorhome. When to change the oil and filter, when to check the trans fluid, when to check the oil in the generator. Overlooking some items can cost a lot of money or time broken down on the hiway.
I have written a Motorhome ToDo List program to keep track of all these tasks. It reminds me when I need to do something, and remembers when I did it last. If I check off as Done something that I want to do each month it will put another entry on the list with the new date. It will send me an email the day before any task is due. I can print the ToDo list or email an Excel file to myself.
This is hosted on my company server and you are welcome to use it. You will have to create an account so it can create a unique ToDo list for you. You can access it from any internet connected device, including your iPhone. So if you get to the camping store and can't remember the part number of the filter you purchased last time, you can access your ToDo list and get the number. Because there are a lot of tasks that are common on motorhomes I have created a default ToDo list for Gas Motorhomes, Diesel Motorhomes and Travel Trailers, so you do not have to start from a blank ToDo list. When you first go into the ToDo list at the bottom will be a red link to the default ToDo lists. There are no dates on the default list so you will have to fill in any dates you want to use. The list is always sorted in date order, so changing a date on a task will move it on the list.
While using the list if you have any good ideas about what can ge added please let me know.
There is no charge for using this ToDo list.

I have added a new feature to the Motorhome ToDo List. If you put any notes for a task now you can put a web site and the next time you go into the notes it will be a clickable link. So if you purchased some filters from the internet,
the next time you need some click on the notes for that task and then you can
click on the link to the web site. If you need to remember how to prime your
motorhome after changing the fuel filter, put a link to that topic in the notes
so next time you can find the information.
Thanks to the users who keep comming up with new ideas.

Great job!
Any way to integrate the due dates with Microsoft Outlook?
I also don't see the default lists.

The ToDo list will email you the day before a task's due date with the task. If the task is recurring, when you check it off that task will appear on the ToDo list again with the new date. I am not sure how to make that happen in Outlook. Your ToDo list is always sorted in due date order so if you put a link to it on your desktop it is just a click away to see what is due.
We could email a iCal file that you could import into Outlooks calendar, but then it would not change when you changed dates in the ToDo list.
If your ToDo list is empty (and only if it is empty) there is a link at the bottom of the list in red that is the link to the default todo lists. When you click on that link you can choose from Travel Trailer, Gas Motorhome or Diesel Motorhome.

Wayne,
You've done a fantastic job putting this together. I trust that many people will appreciate this organizational tool as much as I do.
Thank you for taking the time and your many thoughts regarding what would be needed. You have put a lot of effort into this project and making it work for everyone.
Best to you......

Thanks, Wayne!
I loaded the default list and edited it to my liking.
BTW, I didn't see anything obvious in the manual about deleting items, but I found that I could delete template items I didn't need by deleting the ToDo description and hitting Enter (or clicking Submit).
So now that my computer will remind me, all I need to do is find a way to get my computer to do the work!
Again, thanks for this wonderful tool!

Wayne06 -
Is this set-up with non-standard coding, so it only works on Windows boxes? I've tried 10+ times to view this on a Mac using either Safari or Firefox.
Using Safari, the page never loads.
Using Firefox, I was able to create an account and login, but everytime I select "To Do List", it just takes me back to the login page - even though it shows I'm already logged in with my user name.
Suggestions, or am I outta luck since I don't have access to a Windows box?
Or have any Mac users had success trying to use this page?
Thanks.

I use it with my iPhone so it should work with Safari on your Mac. I think your problem is you do not have cookies turned on. I use cookies to make sure that your password is correct each time you load a page. If cookies are disabled on your browsers it will act as you describe, you enter your user name and password but when you try to do anything it ask for your password again. Let me know if that turns out to be the problem.
