Motorhomes of Texas

I have been looking at some of the units for sale on their website. I am very impressed with the cleanliness and presentation of their motorhomes. Even watched some of their YouTube videos. Does anyone have any first hand experience or knowledge of them.

Before we bought our current DP we went there and looked at one for sale. Let me just say they were very nice and courteous but they make those RV's look really clean in pics and on the little video they shoot. We were looking at a lower end DP and actually test drove it. The salesman said the one we were driving was under consignment meaning they were selling this DP for someone else. I asked if it checked out mechanically and he assured me that it was ready to go and everything worked. We got in and there were quite a few things that did not work. As we turned around the test drive I then began to drive. After a couple miles the DP started vibrating very badly. Enough for my wife to notice. He said it was just normal as it had not been driven in quite some time. When we got back I crawled underneath and noticed one of the straps that holds the u-joints was not even there. That tells me that it had more than likely been towed previously. I told this to the salesman and he acted like it was no big deal. After finding several things out of place we tried to make and offer but the salesman told me that the price was firm and would not even bother the owner so we left. Not a terrible experience but one that tells me they don't negotiate prices. What they have listed is what they will sell it for. I do often look at their website because one day I would love to upgrade to a Foretravel and they seem to sell a lot of them. The Foretravel factory is located near by I believe. Hope this helps.

I looked at a few coaches on their lot the coaches they own look like they do in the videos. They also take consignments (and they will tell you which are consigned) and those are hit or miss. I don't think they go through any inspection or testing as near as I can tell. They do a lot of refurbishment, if you look at a few coaches, you'll notice the furniture is all leather and they look very similar. I thought their approach was very low key and they don't have issues with you taking a test drive.

We have several RV friends who have bought and sold through Motorhomes of Texas. They have a good reputation in our group.

They do a fair amount of consignment business and I would expect that any flexibility on consignment pricing would be a function of the instructions they have received from the seller.

They are located close to the Foretravel factory and they do a lot of business in that brand. If you are looking for a used Foretravel, this is a good place to go.

One of their sales guys maintains a membership in our FMCA chapter and once or twice a year he will bring a “show coach” to one of our rallys. Usually a Foretravel.

We looked at a few coaches there. Loved a Foretravel and American Eagle they had. Went home, rewatched their videos on YouTube and noticed the date on the American Eagle video was almost two years prior. That coupled with the price made us look elsewhere. The salesman was friendly and did not pressure us.

We bought an American Eagle from here.
Full time and loving it!

I've never delt with them but they do seem to have some nice rigs. I know they had a CC in with the ISX650 that dropped a valve in #6 that they had rebuilt before it was sold.

I have not purchased through them, however, I did have some modifications to our coach done by them. They were very receptive and worked hard to get us in and out quickly. We brought the coach in on a Thursday night and they stayed Friday late to get it done so we could get on the road to vacation. Very happy with the quality of their work.

We did not buy a coach from them, but had some work done. It was very timely and professional, and did it when they said they would and finished when the said they would. We'll go to them again for service.
