Mpg. 360/3000

We’re moving up from our beloved F-53 to Cummins 360 with an Allison 3000. What type of MPG should i expect?

We are always over 8, usually around 9 towing the jeep. a couple of trips of around 1200 miles have been right at 9.5. That is at about 70mph on freeway.

After 140,000 miles on my Cummins 350, my average is 8.2 MPG. Avoid the fuel with heavy concentrations of Bio Diesel and you will do better.

Depends on weight, wind direction, speed, driving habits.

Average of 6.5 to 8 is about right. Maybe 10 on flat ground with a tailwind at 65 mph NOT pulling a heavy toad. .
There are several mpg threads in here that go on forever. Use the search and congrats on moving up to a DP! Watch your mpg computer and adjust your driving habits to benefit your mileage.

MPG computers are not always accurate but they can be very helpful in adjusting your driving to benefit mileage.

Giving just the engine HP rating isn't the best way to get accurate info .
Over the years Cummins has produced engines of different displacement with the same HP rating .
Year ( I'll assume the 2016 from your signature line ) and engine model; guessing. ( ISB ; 6.7L ? )
Right off hand ; considering the ISB , is the diesel fuel economy king , I'll say better than your gas coach . 8.5 > 9 is possible.

Also, Cummins testing has shown a 30% difference in fuel mileage between the best and worst drivers.

It appears that their previous coach was a 2016 F53 chassis.

A lot of factors have an impact on MPG. Driving habits ,speed, terrain, load-both coach and toad, use of generator while driving, and even use of aqua-hot if you have it. Nothing should make a major impact but combined they all diminish your MPG. I have a Cummins 400 HP and run the generator, toad is 5,000#, at 65-70 MPH and 6.5-8.0 is a good number.. Have a friend with a similar rig to yours and swears he gets 14--I figured that is 7 going and 7 coming back home.

Send a message via ICQ to Ivylog
His Embark has a ISB and GVWR of 36K...should get 8, maybe a little more if you keep it below 66. OP, one tank will not be accurate enough to figure your mpg. 55 could get you 10+ if mpg is that important to you.

Plan on around the same thing you were getting with your beloved F-53. It is always entertaining to read that some people are able to get over 10mpg let alone 14mpg.

I hope he gets better than his F53. My DP gets WAY better mpg than my V10 Excursion did pulling a 7k# TT. Though this may be comparing apples to oranges.

I'll go with 7 to 8.5 MPG, depending on how heavy your foot is.
