Cummins 400 hp ISL in a 34,000 pound, 40-foot coach. 8 mpg solo, 7.5 mpg towing a 5,700 pound Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is averaged over about 85,000 miles.
I run 65 mph on the interstate, 70 if I have a tailwind.

If I run at 60 mph I get 7.5 mpg but since I rearly run at 60, I have started to now calculate dollars per mile (dpm). With these high fuel prices, dpm is easier to calculate if you'll have enough money for the return trip.

34 foot DP, UVW 24,140 lbs, GVWR 30,000 lbs, GCWR 35,000 lbs, with a Cat 3126 330hp engine. Driving speeds 60 up to 70 mph on certain roads.
Best MPG with out toad 11.8 MPG. Worst MPG pulling a 2013 CRV 8.1 MPG. Flat roads do the best and hills pull the MPG down. I also have never gotten 10 MPG while pulling the CRV. I have gotten around 9.5 as the best while flat towing. I also have not done much time in the mountains which I am sure will lower my average.

35 ft class A gas. Almost 8 MPG towing ether car or truck, and I like 70 on the interstate. One good thing is I can go from CT to MS and then back home and never stop for gas with the toad. It gets good mileage when I'm towing it.

Sounds like I need to buy a 40' diesel and tow a vehicle if I want better MPG.

36-foot gas Class-A with the V-8 averaging 65 MPH. After 6,000 miles I have been averaging between 7.8 and 8.1 miles per gallon. That was from our recent trip from Wisconsin to California and back .. not towing. That's about the same MPG we were getting with our 2016 33-foot Class C with the V-10, so I'm satisfied with that.

If you go with 6.5-7 you will be close as a average.

32’ DP and I get an honest 12-14mpgs not towing. It’s actually amazing how good the mpgs are. When towing I get 8-10mpg. The spreads are due to terrain variables. My rig weighs in at 28,000lbs and is only pushed by a 220hp engine with 675fttq.
With that said I pull steep grades towing at 55mph-45mph and when not towing I can pull those same grades at the speed limit.

2006 37 foot Monaco Ford V10 at 60 mph or less does 10 miles to the gallon on flat ground without any city driving. I don't have nearly the power of a diesel in the hills/mountains where they really shine because of there huge torque. I have a new diesel pick-up and it can get over 40 miles to the gallon on the highway which is almost unbelievable. Speed\power costs money and diesels are superior when it comes to MH in my opinion.

That's amazing, what speed are you generally cruising at?

That was my experience as well with our 32' Baystar as well as a 34' Bounder. 7.3 mpg overall avg and I drive 60 to 65 on the highways. Push the speed and watch that milage plummet!
While outside the OPs size range, two different Winnebago Journey 39' DPs ran low 7's towing with 330 & 350 C7 Cat and my current 43' Mountain Aire with a 450 ISL9 Cummins is low to mid 7's towing a full sized 4x4 pickup.
Based on my 40 year experience, I set people's reasonable expectations in the 7's for class A motorhomes. If they can do better, it's a bonus.
For comparison, a 29' Tioga class C gave me low 9s...no TOAD.

This is a good point. An issue with any of this is accounting for generator and possibly aquahot usage.
