Murphy’s Law strikes again

Aqua hot stopped working on diesel and the electric isnt cutting it. Of course its the coldest week so far this season here and we can’t move. I was thinking of a my buddy heater till I can get parts. How long do the little green bottles last or should i run a 20 lb tank line through the slide seal?

Do you have the Big Buddy (two bottle) or the Jr Buddy?

My Big Buddy on low can run for about 24-36 hours.

That Murphy always has some great timing know?

Interesting on running the LP line the slide seal. How would one do that? Only partially opening the slide?

Previous owner of our coach did a lot of cold camping and they installed an LP fitting just above the toe kick under sink area

Just remember to remove LP line before fully opening slide then fully open slide before retracting slide.

I am considering doing something similar to run internet cable into our rig.
I dont think I want to fully close slide with the cable run thru, so as not to damage the seal.

Lets us know how things work out.

In a similar situation I used two electric heaters. I ran one on the coach electrical system and the other on a heavy duty extension cord from the power pedestal through the window.
You can reposition them according to where you are sitting/sleeping.

As it turns out since I had a couple of solutions the aqua hot issue was minor. The furnace blowers wouldn't run because the electric element wouldn't keep the fluid hot enough under the current conditions. When I started the diagnosis I reset the board, Checked the fuid level ( fine), and checked the connections to the burner controller. When I unplugged and plugged it back in the burner fired right up. It is now working perfectly. The backup plan was modified since I could not run the electric fireplace and the ceramic at the same time. Apparently all my interior outlets go through the inverter and it pops a breaker so Plan B was enacted. I have a wiper under the slide that will fit a two prong plug or a propane line the will not interfere with the bulb seal and since it is under the slide I don't have to worry about water intrusion. I can now run both electric heaters at the same time if it happens again. The electric on the Aquahot was keeping the basement warm so no worry about the waterlines at this point. The Mr Buddy was a Plan C in case the cord wouldn't fit though the slide seal. I don't currently own one but there is a Lowes near me if it becomes necessary. Thanks for the responses.

Sometime last century, we acquired three WAVE brand catalytic heaters.

We rarely use more than one heater on the 'low' setting.
A five-gallon tank lasts at least ten days at about fourteen hours a day.
(We shut the darn thing off at night because it gets too hot.
Who wants to sleep in a sauna!)

But!
My use may not represent your use.
2003, I converted a commercial truck to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle.
I have nearly four inches of insulation around about six-hundred cubic-feet, air-gapped to minimize thermal bridging.

I also have zero-zero-zero holes in my roof.
Based on my experience, I think holes in a roof are a bad idea.

One of the things to check (when it's warmer) is the connectors on the brain box for the unit. On my Hydro-hot the solder had cracked and it wouldn't work, found the connector and popped the box apart, solder it into the board again, back in operation.
