Nashvile to Branson / Class A stop for night

Traveling in a 44' Class A from Nashville TN to Branson MO on Rt 60.
I see it is about 8 hours or so.

I am looking for a place to sleep along the way. about 3- 3 1/2 hours from Branson.

Without knowing what route you are planning to take from Nashville to Branson it's hard to suggest a place to stop at.

Maybe supply a bit more info and you'll get more answers.

I think if you look again, the original poster stated he will be traveling on Rt. 60.

This is not quite as close to Branson as you asked, but we have stayed in the Hinton RV Park in Sikeston twice and thought it was very good for an overnight stay.

Larry

I see you are 45' so I should ask you if Rt 60 is a decent road.

60 is a nice drive as long as you're not in a hurry. Crossing the rivers at Cairo ain't for the faint of heart but it's not hard either. Just close your eyes and you'll be fine. Hinton RV park in Sikeston is reasonable and very easy in and out. Pull thru sites and no need to disconnect. Good reliable hook ups too. I think it's about half way.

Thanks, I'm not concerned about that bridge.

I assume 60 is the best route from Nashville to Branson.

But you say, "60 is a nice drive as long as you're not in a hurry"
Is there a faster way to go?

There might be a faster way but I never look for the fast routes. I like 60 but it is 2 lane and small towns so you can't go real fast. Going from Nashville to Sikeston is only a 3+ hour drive so it's not like you need to make time anyway. It's a good drive. A few trucks around Cairo but they mostly hit the first interstate they can find. The bridges aren't bad. Just tall and narrow with steel framework and narrow lanes. They seem like they're about 7' wide and 200' off the water. Some folks find them intimidating.

Camelot RV Campground, Poplar Bluff MO, located on a service road right along HWY 60/67 on the NW side of Poplar Bluff. Nice clean campground, it is a little hilly and streets are not real wide but maneuverable. A number of pull thru sites. Many MH's in there. Campsites are not very wide so because it is wooded you may not be able to put out an awning but for an overnight it wouldn't matter. Reasonable price.

Hwy 60 is great for travel, used it even before the 4 lane was completed. It is 4 lane highway from I-57 to Springfield, MO. It must have been a few years since Hohenwald48 was on it. Very little truck traffic.

Take a look at going from Nashville to Jackson TN and then north on Hwy 412 and follow it all the way to Kennett, MO, it is 4 lane all the way to Kennett. Then from Kennett go north on Hwy 25 and pick up Hwy 53 in Holcomb then into Poplar Bluff about 50 miles of good 2 lane Hwy from Kennett to Poplar Bluff. Pick up Hwy 60 on the north side of Poplar Bluff and the exit for the campground is just a short distance where you get on Hwy 60. Traveled that route many times. Poplar Bluff is about 3 1/2 hrs to Branson.
