All the safeties kicked in on the leaking cooling unit and the refrigerator shut down thankfully. Dealing with the hassle of finding a RV service center that can get us in. So far three weeks is the norm. Keep you all posted.

Thanks Okie143, the safeties shut everything down. No power to refrigerator now. I was worried about fire danger also. I did the recall and I guess the thing they modified worked thank God!

Can you tell me what kind of unit you replaced and what you replaced it with. I already have a big inverter and 4 batteries.

I had the Norcold 1200 (Not-So-Cold) 4 door and replaced it with the Samsung 197. This is not my install but it looks the same.
Samsung Refrigerator Install
Had all work done by Kustom Coach Works in Junction City they also installed my Magnum 2812 inverter at the same time, they did a great job.

I could probably do that. I would lose my pantry next to my refer but the convenience of having a refrigerator that really cools thing off would be worth it

I'd talk to Good Sam and see what they will do for you.

Update on nasty smell. Finally got Good Sam authorization for refrigerator problem. They allowed 1499.00 for replacement of cooling unit. I have elected to replace the refrigerator with a new one. Had a devil of a time finding anyone willing to work on my unit without waiting weeks. R&L in Hayden, ID. Have been great.

Well, the refrigerator is replaced with another Dometic unit. The old wood panels fit perfectly and this new refrigerator real cools well. I am very happy with the change out. First time I have had icy cold beer from RV refrigerator in the 4 years I have owned it.
