Need a new ladder.

Hi'

I'm in need of purchasing a new rear ladder for my 2001 Newmar Dutchstar 3852 motorhome. I need one that the existing standoff holes will match up. Don't want to drill new holes or have holes not covered. Anyone know what make and model ladder was installed at the factory. Any help much appreciated.

Is your ladder missing or just bent up?

Have been down this road with our Georgie Boy - they used a custom ladder.

After buying a new ladder and found it didn’t line up as you’ve indicated (and I have those same anal qualities myself) - I found a company who I believe is nationwide that will sell aluminum tubing by the foot, the same OD (or ID) as what the ladder is made.
Then, your can get a piece of 3/4” (or at least that’s what I was able to use) hard copper tubing i.e. household copper water pipe - that was a tight fit inside to the aluminum tubing of the ladder.
Cut out the damaged aluminum tubing, get/cut a piece of the copper tubing 12” longer than the cut out aluminum piece of aluminum tube. Insert the copper tube to span the aluminum tube seam by about 6” top and bottom - drill holes A/R in the original places and put it all back together.

I’ve got pictures of most of the process if you want or need them.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I think I might have found something I can make fit on Amazon. Mine is bent and broken both. Tree did a number on it. I'll have to use two of my standoffs (or buy new ones) cause the new ladder only comes with 4 and I had 6 . Other than that I think it should work. Its the same width and the old one and that is the most important part. The only holes that might not line up or going to be on the roof. but at least it will be out of sight. I ordered the Stromberg Carlson LA-401. Its the same height and width. Hope it works out.

I sent Topline Mfg the Winnebago part number for my ladder and they made me an exact replacement…all the mounting holes lined up. So if your Amazon order doesn’t work out…

Send them a email: info@toplinemfg.com
or give them a call: (562) 633-0605 Paramount, CA

Page 140 of Winnebago’s parts catalog for my unit. Hopefully your RV Mfg will have something similar available.

Have you contacted Newmar to see if they can send you a replacement? That's where I would start. If they do have a replacement, you can get the price and then see if it would be less or more costly to have a ladder made for you.

Call RV salvage yards and inquire about a ladder. The two largest RV salvage yards are Colaw Salvage in MO, and Visonerv.com in KY.

Update
I got the new ladder installed today. Took awhile but got er done.
Had to drill new holes, and cut and drill to make it fit. But it came out good. All I have to do is fill in a couple screw holes on the roof and I'll be done. Oh and finish compounding and polishing the back. It was faded and oxidized. Click image for larger version
