Need great glass company to reset class A windshield close to Sarasota FL

My split windshield needs one side reset. Has anyone had or known of this being done by an experienced RV / glass windshield installer in the Sarasota area (with good results}?

Thanks,

-Kevin

It looks like the previous owner has replaced the gasket and or patched this in the past. The gasket is clean and looks new, but really not sure if it is new. It is not very stiff.

Can someone advise if I should get a new gasket from the glass company, Newmar OEM - $206, or another?

Can't replace the gasket without pulling both windshields. It's going to get pricey. There is always the chance of the top sagging and making it difficult to get the glass back in.

Thanks, Yes, aware of having to reset both if the gasket gets replaced. The more I evaluate the situation the more the costs can just keep creeping up. Especially if they drop the glass. The drivers side that is in place seem quite good.

Most likely the culprit was I75 & I65 in Tenn., Kentucky and Ohio. Lots of chuck holes at every bridge.

What would you do? Any advice would be appreciated.

Time for me to start getting quotes from Old-Biscuit sources and a few I have.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Is your windshield leaking yet? The middle top corners of both started leaking on mine.
I had the same problem with one of the windshields needing to be reset. I never did get a local windshield to return my call. It's possible they could crack the windshield when removing it, and then they won't try to re-install it. I just wish they had told me instead of ignoring me. I ended going up to Newmar Service and paid for new windshields and new gasket - they were both cracked from the trip so I used my FL insurance. Newmar wouldn't remove and reset either - chance of cracking and they wouldn't warranty it. $4k at the factory for both. My windshields are way different then yours.
Duncan handled the insurance interface between Newmar and Progressive. They have a customer facing glass company named RV Glass - there is a branch near Orlando.

RKins,

Yes it is leaking in the middle of the passenger side windshield at the top. The gasket and glass have seperated. It looks like the glass is saging, but don't think it is (not positive). I know something was done before, because an older sealant line is on all top, bottom and side edges some distance out from the current gasket. I know I could work the gasket back in the glass and use a very good adhesive to eliminate the leak, but I would rather not.

I have sent the Duncan people an email yesterday.

About 15 years ago, a place in Venice reset one side of my old Beaver. Can't find them now.

Thanks for your input.

FMCA is associated with a national windshield company. You may want to check with them.

Those pics look like what happened to mine.
Check the gap along the top edge of the front hood. Is it consistent all along the top between the hood itself and the piece of fiberglass above it, under the windshield. The wood holding the fiberglass section rigid that is between the hood opening and the windshield had disintegrated from water intrusion which allowed the windshields to sag in the center - like 3/4". They rebuilt that at the factory. Hope yours is not like that.

RKins - The bottom of both windshields are consistent in the gasket on the hood. They don't show any signs of movement. Hopefully the base is solid. Thanks
