Need help identifying part number.
Hi...I have a 2004 Winnebago Journey 39' DP (WKP39K). There is a small (3"?) coolant hose beneath the alternator. I cannot find a part number for it. Anybody ever come across this?
Also looking for a good source for good used interior and exterior parts.

I believe the hose your looking for ; Caterpillar considers a water pump by-pass hose . 3" long and 2" diameter ?
The hose was replaced on my engine ( 3126B ) when a new water pump was installed at a Cat repair shop . If your engine is a 3126E then the part should be the same . A Cat C-7 could be different .
Is the hose currently painted yellow ?
That would indicate , it was on the engine when Cat shipped it to Freightliner for installation in the chassis , and something you'd have to have access to Cat parts catalog for the number.
I have the invoice for the water pump replacement , I'll look for a P/N .

I'm having no luck finding the invoice but to confirm we are talking about the same part , here's two pictures .

Found the invoice .
Caterpillar P/N for the hose ; 7E-0759 .
The invoice is 10+ years old so number may have changed .
Have your engine serial number any time you go into a Caterpillar shop for parts.

Skip426, Thank you for all of the work and getting the info for this. I had a really hard time seeing the hose on my Cat engine. I added a lousy pic of the hose on my original post, but I’m not seeing it now. I am not sure what happened, but I haven’t posted much, so I probably didn’t do something right. From what you’ve described and the pictures you posted, It looks right. The only difference is my hose looks like it could be ribbed. I will try to repost again. I’m not sure why mine would be failing so soon and I hope it is that simple, but my entire motor was replaced by Cat just a few years ago. I will see if I can repost my pic and I will call Cat today before I go in.

Yeah. I I don’t think I can just pull it out without removing the radiator and alternator. It seems to be in a challenging location. Maybe once the alternator is out I can get to it from the top??? It just so happens I have to replace the alternator anyhow.

The rubber or wrapped looking hose is just manufactured different from the smooth one. It or both may helical wire type. Seems they went with silicone maybe as it's difficult to change. Just seems to be straight hose that can also be cut to length if you find a longer one online or at Nappa.

Replacing the alternator in my 03 3126E was not a fun job. Had to remove the turbo air intake hose to get the alternator bolts out. Replacing that hose was the toughest part of the whole job. My Phaeton does not have good access.

Bigd9 , just posted this diagram of the regulator ( Cat's name for thermostats ) housing ; up till I saw this diagram , I thought removing the water pump would be the only way to change the hose in question .
With the alternator off , perhaps removing the regulator housing from the side of the cylinder head would be the easy route to access the hose.
You'd need the gasket ( housing to head ) .
Sorry diagram came without part numbers.
