Need Help Setting Up New Pathways X2 Dish

I own a 2006 National Dolphin 36 foot gas model. I have just purchased a new Pathways X2 Dish satellite antenna and 2 receivers. I am having trouble understanding the directions and how to set up the system. I don't know if I can hook up the coaxial cable to the outside Dish and then connect to my CG cable inlet in the storage bin or do I have to run the cable from the Dish outside into the RV through a window to the receivers?? Can someone who owns this same system please provide me with some guidance and advice? Thanks for any input and advice.

Need Help Setting Up New Pathways X2 Dish

The cable TV connection may or may not work. If there is an amplifier in the circuit, it can be problematic. On my PA the cable TV connection works fine with portable satellite dishes.

I suggest to run a cable through a window or doorway to get it setup and working. Then once you have it working connect to the cable TV connection and try it.

What you need to do depends on how your RV is set up. You need an unbroken and unspliced coax from the satellite dish to the receiver. In my coach, the coax for the cable TV goes from the outside to a distribution box in front. I removed the cable from the box and out it in the receiver and it works fine However, some coaches do not have an unbroken cable you can use.

Coaches vary a lot. Ours has a connector in the electric cable bay that is used to connect to the park cable. I can connect the X2 that, go to the A/V distribution box (Box Of Many Buttons ie., BOMB) and select "cable" as the source to output to one of the TVs. Pick a TV that you want to use and input that to the receiver. When you push the button, the satellite signal goes to the receiver. Connect the HDMI cable to the TV.

Clear as mud far?

Big problem with all that is that some TVs are not near the BOMB or the receiver, so you have to run the HDMI around the room. I'm using a wireless HDMI set that takes care of that for me.

Don't use the OTA antenna as a source, because it has an amplifier in the line, and it's NOT bi-directional; the receiver can't talk to the dish, so it won't work.

Give it a try, it will work out, and keep in touch.
