Need the Lastest Info Please

Hi All! New to this forum but not the Rv life. Wife and I spent 4 years following the D around in her college sporting days and then retired from RV'ing and business world. That was 5 years ago. We have now decided to live out our days traveling in a coach, so can someone help us out on a few things?

1) Montana LLC or not worth the trouble?
2) SD registration or NWTT?
3) We are looking to buy a new higher end Prevost or used Marathon. Thoughts?
4) Where to buy (know that depends on the answer to #1) but looking @ the FL/DFW/OR markets?

Ant help/thought would be appreciated

Thanks for the time

Depending on your state for tax purposes would be my consideration. If you reg/tag using an LLC would help if you are in a high income bracket. For myself, I used my disabled vets no tax and my wifes native indian discounts.

Can't go wrong with a Prevost as they are really nice. Cost of up keep on any Class A is what made me determine what I bought.

Where to buy is not much different since you are an experienced Rver, IMOP. I found I got the best price in Arizona but that was after I had done all my research and showed the sales guy the comp prices of other units around. They couldn't argue then.

Thanks Okie and also thanks for your service to our country!

You kinda make me think I'm not thinking right about buying the RV I choose in a sales tax exempt state? Retired now so income isn't much of a factor but saving sales tax and avoiding BS regs is. I do wonder, however if these no sales tax states use it to their advantage and get a high asking price anyway....thoughts?

Remember you'll owe the sales tax to the state where you domicile, not where you buy. At that price point, I would be looking into MT LLC, there are plenty of threads on IRV2 about it.

There are also many good threads on where to establish domicile/ each has their pluses & minuses. What works best for me might not for you :-)

Remember to factor in the cost of your FT insurance on the rig & contents as part of the $ impact of domicile choice, and also total tax burden.
