New Batteries

Had 3 new batteries installed a few weeks ago, 2 for house, 1 to start. The dash now won't work and I think it is a ground wire as dash worked with old batteries. So have mobile RV mechanic out checking.....now he tells me that the brand new house batteries are dead, the starter battery is OK. I always plug in my rig to keep batteries charged.....now the house batteries look like something is "on" in rig. Could this possibly be the inverter not working properly? Thought I'd check with you experts while the mechanic is here. Please advise your thoughts....also house batteries have some sweating already on the surface as if something is "on" in the rig....but everything is off!
Thanks.

Did you install them or have them installed? Did you take a picture of the battery cable installation BEFORE you disconnected them to install the new ones? Did you check all the crevices in the battery compartment for a stray wire that didn't get reconnected?

Whoever installed those batteries messed it up. Now to figure out what is right.

The sweating has little to do with what is on or off - it is a result of the converter/charger working to keep them charged up. but you say the house batteries are now dead, meaning not being charged. You need to find out why.

They probably already gave you answer as didn't hook up a wire or put a smaller positive to ground. When you figure it out . if its paired with a big cable ziptie it to it so it doesn't happen again. A roll of quality red tape to phase tape the all the positive wires. Black any negatives that might be white.
I'll remember just don't cut it like a pic or color code.
At work all our 3phase 480v motors at head are now ...Brown1 orange2. yellow3 .
BOY 123... EASY...
some older were red1 white2 blue3 it was standard on Japanese variable frequency drives.
