New coach, activate Winegard satellite?

I just purchased a 2019 open road that came with a Winegard and a Wally system with a Dish satellite on the roof. I don’t know where to begin to activate everything.

I raised the dish and it connected to 3 satellites. The previous owners said I would need a couple of numbers that would be displayed on the TV but I can’t find where they’re displayed.

Can someone please walk me through what I need to do. Who I need to call and what they will need? Appreciate your help.

Steve

Just call Dish. They'll walk you through everything. After you establish an account, you can control it all with the app. Have to call them first though. No way to do anything without getting them on the phone first.

I’ve read on other posts that calling Dish is a nightmare and that Winegard is a better option. I just don’t know how to find the serial numbers or whatever they need.

To get a Dish account, you have to call Dish. Wingard can't establish you account or pick your programming etc.

Dish will tell you how to get the IDs and receiver numbers they need to send the activation to your dish. You'll want to be in the RV when you call and have everything ready to view TV. The numbers they request will be shown on the TV screen and are easy to get to using the Wally Remote.

Dish is VERY good at setting up accounts and selling services. They will treat you like a king. It's later when you want them to do something that doesn't make them more money that they can be stingy with customer service.

Just be happy it's not DirecTV - they'd probably hang up on you.

The Wally has a R0 and a S0 serial number. Dish will need those numbers in order to determine if the Wally is free and clear. If the previous owner owes money to Dish, then the Wally can't be transferred to you.

If you press the home button - top middle button with the silhouette of a house - three times, you will get a screen with all the information you need.

Numerous times I've had great success working with Dish! IMHO solid customer service.

well it's nice to hear some positive comments about DISH (since I work there lol). First thing you will need to determine if the receiver is still attached to the previous owners acct. If it is they will NOT be able to activate the receiver for you. You can do this by contacting DISH and giving them the receiver #. Press the lil house button on the top of your remote 3x's and it will take you to the screen with the receiver #. It will start with an R. If it IS still attached to the previous owner you have 2 options...contact them and have them contact DISH to have the receiver removed from their acct or 2. purchase a new wally receiver. If the receiver is clear or you purchase a new receiver you will then need to set up a DISH account through the DISH outdoor dept. Pick your programming package and pay the first month service. Outdoor accts are month to month and will shut itself off once the month is over and can be continued or reactivated by paying the next month service. Once you have an active acct and the receiver is activated on the acct you will be good to go. DISH outdoors will assist you with your first time set up when the receiver is activated.

Personally Dish the only way to go if you are not a full timer. The Pay as you go option works great.
