New Flooring Question

Good Afternoon

I am looking for some advice. I am looking at a 2007 Newmar Dutch Star that has 50K miles and has had the roof fully replaced for almost 15K. The rest of the unit looks good except the carpet is really dirty. The wife would like to replace it with engineered flooring but I am wondering how much that would cost or even if it is doable. Should we look at replacing all the carpet or leave the bedroom?
Any suggestions appreciated as this will be our first MotorHome!

Thanks Bill

If your carpet can't be cleaned your wife will not like having new flooring everywhere but the bedroom. At least that would be the case here.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

We removed all the old carpet and put down 12" squares of premium vinyl tile laid in a diamond pattern. We put the tile everywhere except the cockpit are, where we put new carpet. Look at post #75 in the link below. Maybe it will give you some ideas!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

The guru for flooring is Ernie Ekberg.

Join his group and you can see pictures of coaches he has done. He is very forthcoming in answering any questions you have and can give you an estimated cost.

We just recently replaced all our capeting, except for the main slideout, and vinyl sheet flooring in our whole coach with Earthwerks Premium Vinyl Plank flooring. It looks and feels like oak. We had a new piece of carpet bound for the main slideout. Quarter round molding was installed throughout the coach also. The whole project cost us 3k and worth every penny. A local floor company came onsite to do the work. Took three days.
