New HR Imperial owner!

I had another thread asking for opinions, when I was considering a purchase. Well, it's no longer a consideration. I bought it!
It's a 2005 Imperial 40 PRT with 72k miles and other than the paint checking, it's in very good shape. It made the 1100 mile trek from Arizona to Texas, mostly without issue. I say mostly, because the trans temp did get warm(215*) when trying to climb some long, low grade, hills, in 105+ temps.
Once the temp was more normal (95+), there were no more trans temp issues.
This is my first RV of any kind, so I'm a newb. I've already experienced some things going wrong like drawer latch breaking, electrical wire got pinched on passenger seat, and gen out light has come on.
These are small issues and overall, I'm happy with the rig and hope to take some trips in the next few months.

Go to the Power Train Garage/Cummins Forum and read the post on Repeating Caps Failures. There's alot of good info there on the ISC 8.3L CAPS engine.
We have an 03 Scepter with 55K mis. and it has this problem. It may be a good idea to have a diesel mechanic put a diagnostic computer on it to see what if any fault codes pop up. A $200-300 diagnosis could save you $5-10,000 on motor repairs.

The Holiday Ramblers are included in the Monaco section on the Owners Forum of this website. If you have specific HR questions, that is a good spot to start.

You should look into joining the Holiday Ramblers RV Club (HRRVC). Check out the yearly Maintenance Session of the Ramblin Pushers in Goshen, IN. As a newbie, you would gain a lot of info from that.
