New kids on the block

Hello, my husband and I are looking to purchase a 2007 thor hurricane 30q and were just wondering if there are specific problems we need to look into before purchase. This will be our first ever personal RV but am familiar since my parents are big class A users. So we know we have to replace tires. They did have a water leak at driver side wall which we are told has been fixed. Appears to be window leak. Dealer says they will reseal windows and roof before sale. Also has popcorning which is the first we have noticed in our searches. We have learned to check everything but would appreciate any info good or bad. Thank you!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Hope the purchase goes well for you. I don't know anything about that rig so can't help any!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Make sure everything works several times before you buy. Be prepared for something to break after you buy. And, water leaks leave damage ever after the fix. .....Thats any MH. Good luck

The Hurricane is a legacy line now for Thor Motor Coach (was FourWinds) that is still in manufacture. That means they have sold well and are popular for overall appeal.

2007 was the balloon year just before the crash of 2008...these were well made with industry common parts and pieces that are easy to maintain and fix...but...
About a unit with leak damage, it can be superficial or not. But no matter, that should be thoroughly checked and it should impact the price point.

For the overall coach, I would check and double check that EVERY system works. Don't be shy at inspecting it...check EVERYTHING and ask for help with systems you might not understand.

And, I would run water from a sprayer over the area of the leak repair to simulate rain. Then with the spray on, climb inside looking for any water penetration. Yes, it is that important.

Not sure what popcorning is? If it is blisters under the fiberglass gelcoat, that is very difficult and expensive to repair. If not repaired, another factor in the price point.

Best luck
