New on forum, Safari Serengeti?

I am looking at a 93 Safari Serengeti with a 250 hp cat. I can not find any other Safari's with that motor. Have any of you heard anything about this configuration and are they a good match up.

Welcome George to the forum!
If the 93 Safari Serengeti you are talking about is the one on RVT.com, it looks nice! But, it is priced about double what it is worth! Not too familiar with the Safari Coach's, but with leaf spring suspension, hydraulic brakes, propane generator, for that money you can buy a very nice Monaco, CC, Newmar, with full air ride, air brakes, diesel generator, and on and on!
Get out there and test drive them all, and make your own choice! Only you know what you want and like!
Depending the weight of the coach, is if the 250 HP will be enough for you!
The ratio is 1 HP for 100 lbs, so if this coach weighs 25,000 lbs. or less it will perform good! So They Say! Rail!

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good folk and good info here which you already see. I might reconsider your choice though these are interesting vintage coaches. With toad and such you may be way underpowered.

I'm new here too so I guess we welcome you and do not answer your question. I'll try and start a new trend...in that vintage it's likely a 3208 turbo charged Cat. Not a great Cat...not a sleeved engine and some had only two rings on the pistons. Smokes on startup (mosquito control) but clears up once warmed up.

I don't think Safari used Cat motors untill 1996

Thanks, think I will pass on it. (It was the same one you mentioned but price dropped a little)

Again, thanks for the info
