Uh being that there is only 2 chassis available for gas... one being a super C truck and the other a Ford, there is no good arguement to buy a gasser at this point.
When WH was building chassis... it was a good time for gassers. Also being that most OEMs are dedicating R&D to small diesel platforms... this might equate into cheaper drive trains for the gasser segment. Heck maybe ford will put a beefed up version of the v6 ecoboost in a moho chassis. Then it will be on for usable torque numbers as these can already exceed 550+ lb ft

We have owned both and full timed in both. Never had an issue in either when we set up for several months. It comes to, for us anyway, the livability. In comparing our two coaches ONLY, the DP we currently have is much more livable than the gas unit, but please understand that's JOHO and has nothing to do with gas vs. diesel..

The one advantage I see with a diesel (that I like, anyway) is the air suspension. I like being able to lower the coach at a campground. Less effort for my 15 year old pooch to get up and down the steps. Less effort for me as well!

And besides, I just like the look of a lower coach.

Lots of opinions here. If the OP was confused before, She's got to be a basket case now.

We had a few gas MHs years ago and they were ok for what we used them for. Mostly a few weekends and one trip south in the winter. I got tired of the engine noise up front, being tossed around in the wind and having semi's blow me sideways when they passed or met me. Enter our first diesel 15 years ago. It was only 275 hp, but what a change in enjoyment. Our current one has a tag, 450 hp and 1250# torque. Now, we also pull a 12,000# enclosed trailer with our toys and extras in it. There is not a gas MH on the road that could safely handle that load. It all comes down to what you want to do with it, how much you want to take with you and what level of comfort you want and of course what can you afford. Some people drive a compact Chevy and some drive a full sided Mercedes. They both get you to your destination, but the level of comfort is different.

After reading all these post I can't help but comment myself.

What's really cool is if any of you were having trouble with your awning, I would come help.
No matter DP or Gas.
And I know any of you would do the same for me.

Lets not loose sight of that.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programing.

I am a researcher by nature, nurture, and training and so all the info is great. Each person has his or her own opinions based on their experiences. Each respondent offers a pearl of information that is fun to sift through. Another thing I am truly enjoying is the generosity of those who care enough to answer the questions of someone whose face they will probably never see...

As I replied to Crasher, I am enjoying how the people in this forum are reaching out to me and mine to help me though they have never met me in person...

I am not sure if I could help you with your awning, but I could help you with your computer... :-)
