I'm about a year away from a new roof. Does anyone have any personal experience with ANY of the new spray ons. RV Roof Armor, LineX, etc. I've seen it on one coach, but was unable to talk with the owner. I sure like the idea of a lifetime guarantee against leaks, and never having to caulk again.

I don't have any experience with having a spray on roof applied, I spoke with Rhino Lining and they do have a product that replaces rubber roofs and can go directly over a fiberglass roof. It has a lifetime guarantee but is a little pricey. For my coach I was quoted between $4600 and $5200. I like the idea but at this point it is out of my budget. There is a product I think that is called Snow Roof. It is applied with a roller much like a paint. Both of these products from what I have been told also act as an insulator.

That is a little pricey. In Florida there's a place called www.rvroofs.com that will do it on my 38' Dutch Star for $3800. But it has a limited warranty. I'm looking for something that has a lifetime warranty. Plus I just found out that RV Roof Armor will come to you and do it on site. I'll have to do a little investigation about that.

The rubber roof you have will be drying out and lifting from base surface its better to remove the old roof and fix any delaminated of old wood base surface than place a Brite-Tex roof which Newmar use's now.

Not to completly change the topic.. But I was kind of wondering.

I picked up a can of this flex seal spray (Bright white) and have used it for some other projects.. Seems to be fairly good stuff, a very "Thick" spray.

Wondering if it might work for a patch job,

Sure worked on a no-pressure hose. (Well low pressure)

For a patch, I would use Eternabond tape. Very sticky and durable.

I do keep Eternabond in stock.. But I was still wondering about the spray stuff.

I should state: I purcahsed the stuff for a specific job, it did the job with much left over. (Worked good for that too) so I used some of the left over for another job

ON my 3" hose.. I have a few different options but for the site I'm stuck on (Parked till I can afford new engine) I used an older hose, this one is an extension hose and then I use a very short (like 1 foot) hose to the elbow, Well the short hose had started spraying on me.. So I sprayed it.. NO leaks detectable since.. Worked great, The new Flex Sealed hose is more like my Tethford Smart Hose in feel by the way. (Very thick coating) Should work well and last a long time.

007, most of the spray on company's will do any wood repair that's necessary. With a new Brite-Tex roof I'd be back to having to caulk, and I want to get away from that yearly chore. I don't do well crawling around on my knees anymore.

when i went to get spray on liner for my pickup truck bed i looked at Rhino and Line-x Both are lifetime guarantee on their product. One of the things I found out was the difference in the guarantee. Rhino products are guaranteed by the shop that installs it. Another rhino liner shop will not honor the warranty. Line-x is warrantied by Line-x company and any line-x dealer will honor the warranty. I have line-x on my pickup and i am very happy with it.

Speaking of Line-X....I'm considering putting it on the front of my Tradewinds. I've had a bra on it for years and the bra is falling apart. There is some abrasion which has been caused by the bra and I don't want to repaint. I'm waiting for an estimate from a local company on a new bra but I suspect it's going to be in the $600-800 range. Yesterday I got an estimate of $500 for the Line-X and that includes a "premium" coating which will prevent fading from UV rays. My thought is that the Line-X will look good, be fairly easy to keep clean and will allow easy access thru the front generator panel. Any thoughts out there?

Our old 93 Terry trailer at the beach had the rubber roof, lasted about 6 years, trailer repair folks put on that ol ugly tin roof stuff, guess what, aint leaked a drop since, but it sure is ugly to look at.

I saw something similiar on the front of a motorhome. I'm not sure if it was LineX or not but it was color matched(a tan color), and it looked great. That's what I'm inclined to do when I have my roof done.

If you decide to go this direction go with the line-x versus rhino coating. Rhino coating is a cold process and seems to have some difficulty with running in vertical applications. Line-x is a hot process and seems to stay in place better. When they did my pickup the sides of the bed were perfect.
