New Tires! Exciting!

In the name of safety, we pulled the trigger on our almost 7 year old tires. Went thru FMCA for the discount pricing, they very helpful and the process was pretty easy. Of course it never goes well.......Dropped the coach off on a Monday morning at Callaghan Tires here in Bradenton at 7:30 am. John spent a good while making sure we are all set and gave them our rear tire extensions. This is a major tire truck center, big. Coach had to stay overnight as the alignment station guy next door had a doctors appt. Picked it up the next day and 3 out of the 6 tires did not have enough stem sticking out to put our TPMS's on......sigh. Trip two and John stayed with the guy to make sure it was done correctly (also used another set of new extensions). So make sure you spell out exactly what is needed......I even said to give them the "don't step on the stairs until they are fully extended" speil. You know that one where a service person steps on the stairs and strips the motor?? Yeah that one....I reserve that speech for places I have no confidence in.
Costs: $4565.27 final price from FMCA (lots of taxes), $677.31 from Callaghan (install, balance, valves, scrap, shop supplies. $33 from Freightliner for yet another set of extensions. We carry spares after a past lesson from the road. $879.26 per tire. What did make me happy was that the tires were made 13/23!
