New tires - Houston

Speaking of Chinese Junk! I had a HR 5'r that came with Goodyear premeum tires on it. Within two years they were wearing so fast that i replaced them with Michelin's. Within a little over two years cracks started showing up on the sidewall. I was having blowouts so regular that I carried two extra tire and wheel on long trips. Replaced them at my tire guy's recommendation with SAMSON Chinese junk tires. That was about five years ago, put at least 5000 loaded miles on them, half in the hot TX, LA, AL FL. sun. No blowouts, no punctures, no cracking, no air loss, and one third the price of the Goodyears. Go Figure!

I just replaced the Goodyears (after 2nd blow out) with Bridgestone R250s. Much better ride quality. Much tougher tire too with better side wall protection and heavier construction. My last set of Bridgestones were problem free for many years on our Bounder. Look forward to more of the same with these. Never again Goodyears.

Now on to repair of damage from faulty Goodyear tire.....

I would stay with either Goodyear or Michlin. Michlin has a purchase program thru FMCA. Acutally I was able to purchase my Michlin locally at a better price than FMCA. I would look for a commerical tire dealer not just a car tire shop. Michlin track better, but the GY ride a little better.
