The batteries in the picture are 6 volt batteries connected in series to produce 12 volts. That's a good thing ! Why 2 batteries? simply, more amp hours of power. Again, a good thing.

So negative to positive is correct? So my generator won't start for another reason. I have to make sure they have power yet.

Yes it is correct, and if you look closely there is a pos and a neg lead leaving the paired batteries. It is not your starting problem.

Do you have any 12v power in the rig? If your so called salesmen switch is off it will probably not let you start the gen, and you wouldn't have any 12v power in the house.

Are there any cables laying around in the battery area ?

They may have left one off.

No power inside for anything. What is the "salesman switch"? I see a battery disconnect switch that is red and two others that are on/off to the left of the steps. All on on position.

Papa that red cable twinboat is asking about should be replaced with a black cable or wrap black tape around the end close to the terminal.

It's the battery disconnect switch. You say there is no power inside for anything well then that sounds like the issue. Look for a 12v distribution panel maybe in a bedroom cabinet or behind a wood panel or something. Try getting on the owners forum page for the model you have and ask where it might be.

I love my Damon Daybreak

THE DAYBREAK LIVES!!! It's alive!!!!! New coach batteries a little starter spray and the Generator is running! The fridge and freezer check out and the AC brought the temp inside from 89 to a comfortable 74!!! Hooked up city water and flushed out the lines. Can't seem to get the water in the holding tank to run via the pump though. I have not tried the water heater yet either. It was a good day! Oh and none of the lights on my info center light up to tell me battery levels or holding tank levels???? Still a good day!!! Our foster daughter wants to camp on it tonight! LOL

Pump works now too! Had the city water on it earlier not realizing even once I turned it off it probably still had some pressure in it. Took it for a drive and now it's working.

Thanks everyone!!!!
