I'm quite new to the RVing world. I purchased a used 2002 National Seabreeze 32 foot Class A RV. It has vertical power gear leveling system.

After our last outing when leaving I retracted the jacks, but still have the jack down light lit up. I verified that the jacks had all retracted. I drove it home. The Jack down light remained on and a beebeing alarm was suffered through the entire trip home. I found in the paperwork that this issue it is probably caused by the hydraulic fluid level low being to low. I found the fill valve which appears to be quite a large bolt.

I'm not quite the mechanic but am I able to remove this & verify level and add if needed? If I do does the system need to be bleed again.

Also the front access panel makes accessing it a bit tricky but i see that this might be removed with 4 screws. Is that safe to do or should I take it to a shop?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Fill it with fluid with jacks up and the alarm should go off. If that's the only way to fill it I guess I would take the screws out, unless you can fill it with a long funnel. Good luck. Jim

Make sure the jacks are fully retracted. The fluid is full when it comes to within a 1/4 inch of the bolt hole. Once the fluid is checked, extend the jacks and spray the shiny piston shaft with silicon spray lubricant.

Its not a bolt, its a fluid level sensor, essentially a bobber on a stick. Note the orientation of the point on the black part in the middle of the white nut. It needs to be put back in the same orientation it is removed, typically 6 o'clock. You also need to put a wrench on this to prevent it from turning as you loosen the white nut. Once the nut is loosened and pulled out to the connector on the wires, DON'T remove it from the wires. Its a pain to put back on. Don't remove the rubber grommet either. You should now be able to remove the bobber from the tank. Add sufficient Dexron III to to fill the reservoir up to the edge of the hole. Replace sensor with point in 6 o'clock position.
