Newbe needs help with Coleman Road Trip XLE grill
Newer than new newbe needs help with the Coleman road trip grill.
At the rip old age of 67 I retired and my wife and I decided that we would love to see our beautiful country. That being said we purchased our first RV. A 2005 Winnebago Adventurer. Without thinking first. I purchased the Coleman Road Trip grill and would like to connect to our coach propane tank. So far I have purchased three different propane hoses only to find that none of them fit the fitting on our coaches tank. I have to believe that some folks here have solved this riddle. I know my brain is not as sharp as it use to be but I'm hoping that I was not so stupid to buy a grill that I can't connect it to the tank.
Sorry for the long winded post but HELP PLEASE.
Thanks,
Joe

Try this. Hooks up to your tank. Take the connection off of your tank and add this between it and the tank. That's how I did mine. Oh yeah you will need a hose too.

I have the same stove, and this is what I use. I just tap off my LP tank (if you have a separate external patio connection the connector could be different):
Camco LP Hose

I'm looking to do exact same thing, just got the Coleman RoadTrip for birthday gift.
To plagiarizer a question and answer from a post in Amazon, take a look at this.
Note that I will connect to my coach on the Low Pressure side of the RV tank regulator, thus I don't need a regulator on the Grill nor the hose! I'm not sure that the "Camco 57282" hose will fit your rig? Just take a look and see if this would work. Amazon Part# and Prices for all are listed! Good Luck! Hopefully you can read and see image? First time posting an image! May have to open image to read???

What you all are looking for is called an Extend - A - Stay T fitting. you can get it with one port to connect an external lp tank for when your main tank runs low or you can get the one with two ports (this is the one you want that not only allows you to add a remote propane tank but also allows you to connect a grill or other propane device. Here is a link you can click on: Brass Tee with Four Ports and 5 ft Hose - Camco

Mikeannetta has the answer to a common problem. Many folks try to use their Coleman by hooking it to their coach's extended port to find they can't get any propane to flow. That is usually because they hook up the grills pressure reduced to a line that already has reduced pressure from the source. What needs to be done in this case is to remove the pressure regulator from the grill ( if the coach's line is already providing reduced pressure). That's what Mikeannetta's post is showing.

I'm connecting to the Low Pressure Side of a Winnebago 16 onboard tank. From what I understand, if it's coming from this side I don't think you need to have a 15 lbs regulator on your line.
Is this correct?

Yes Mike.... That is correct. Just remove the regulator from the Coleman hardware and use whatever fittings you need to connect to your hose and the your hose to the rv. Just take your parts with you to your local hardware store and ask a store person to fit you up.
