Newbie to all of this and desperate for help please

Please help

We are getting ready to retire and have a serious desire to get a nice class A home. We are home based in Missouri and trying to find out what type of drivers license we would need .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I'm sure we will have many more questions in the future so our thanks go out to all members and those who moderate and host this forum.

Welcome to the forum. You will get answers here. For driving a Class A in Missouri no special license is required. What you presently have is fine for a motorhome. See this web site for more information.

If you live in Alabama the whole world feels sorry for you and will allow you to drive with your license!

Ok I'm just being silly, but as I understand it you are bound by the laws of the state your licensed in.

Welcome, glad you have joined. It's my understanding that no special licence is required for an RV due to RV's are "recreational vehicles" and not "commercial vehicles". I have also heard some grumbling about some States who may want too change this and require RV owners to have a CDL to operate their coaches.
How much of this is true, I have no idea...but it wouldn't surprise me!

Anyway, get what you want and enjoy the ride! Happy trails!
