Newbie trying to get started

I joined here hoping to learn more about RVs and get help in deciding on which RV to purchase. I plan on full timing and doing a lot of boondocking. Because of that I want a lot of solar and lithium batteries.
When I started looking I thought I would be happy with an entry level Winnebago or Coachman based on pictures and price. Then I went to look at them and ruled both out. I then looked at Entegra and the dealer also had a Newmar Bay Star Sport. Of course I fell in love with the Newmar but it’s just out of budget. The salesman contacted me the other day about a used Newmar they just got with less than 8000 miles. I don’t know if that’s good or not but they are proud of it as it’s what I think is priced high.
So what’s the group’s thoughts on brands? I’ve looked at pictures of Nexus Maybachs and they sure look good but there seems to be a lot of questions about the company and there products. Nexus, Entegra or a slightly used one year old Newmar? Is there another brand I should consider? I want a gas Class A and my budget is $80,000 to $90,000.
I look forward to any help or suggestions you offer.

You gonna get a suggestion of every brand that is made because somebody has one. They all have Quality control issues. Remember when it comes time for warranty work. Manufacturer only assembles parts. Much of the warranty work will be handled by the component manufacturer. This is especially true for Class A. Coach by one builder and chassis buy another. Do lots of homework. Used is the way to go. Previous owner got all the bugs out and paid all the depreciation.

Why have you ruled out a TT or fifth wheel?
You could get way more for less money with a towable and not be forced to have a toad. Which ammounts to a second drive train to maintain.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Newmar is good and so are some older Monacos. In that price range I would look at high-end Monacos like the Dynasty and Signature. Those were great coaches in the earlier 2000's!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

FWIW the Entegra gassers are rebadged Jayco’s. I don’t know much about Nexus, it seems like you either get a good one or a bad one, not much grey area. I have a Bay Star Sport, and it’s had it’s issues but Newmar has fixed everything that was wrong without question. Their customer service has been great.

Your budget is big enough to find a used Newmar Bay Star or possibly Canyon Star. We picked up our 2012 for considerably less than your budget amount albeit I did have to replace the tires, but that was only a little over 2K. You just have to allow enough $$ in the budget for setting up a car for 4 down towing or a tow dolly.

Crap. I had typed out a nice long response and when I tried to post it I found that I had been signed out and lost it.
Anyway, I took everyone's comments and looked around. I checked out several used RVs and while it's not as used as others I've about decided on the Newmar Bay Star Sport 3210. I just have to get some discount on the price. I worked in the jewelry business most of my working life and I learned one big thing. Everything is negotiable except two things that I know of, doctor's bills and the grocery store. Doctors seem to be doing better with prices with insurance payments now though.
Wish me luck. I will know something by tomorrow.
