Newmar Slide Lock / 2008 DutchStar 4355

I have a 2008 Newmar DutchStar model 4355. I am trying to repair a slide lock arm on my living room slide drivers side (rear lock arm). This is the slide with my couch, desk, and dining area. It’s the large side that is on a ramp. There are overhead cabinets along the whole slide. My issue is how to access the lock arm motor. I have discovered that the four small screws holding the motor to the gearbox has separated. The gear box cover is where the whole thing is pinned. I have taken the flange off from the exterior and can pull the lock arm off and can twist most of the mechanical out but there is no way I can reach in and undo the mounting pin to get the rest. Secondly, to reinstall assembled would impossible. The reason I mention all this, I repaired the same issue in my bedroom slide and was able to access the motor assembly from the inside through the overhead cabinet - I reinstalled the small screws and it works for now. On the main slide, there is no access. I called Newmar who said to do it all from the outside.

Wondering if anyone has done this and how it worked? Seems like I am missing something. My guess is this was all installed prior to the overhead cabinets and window treatments for in the coach.

If it can't be accessed with the slide open, from the outside, could you cut an access panel in the back of the adjacent cabinet.
