No Hot Water
We own a used 2007 Excursion Diesel Pusher. The coach did not come with all the owners manuals. Our problem is no hot water. We had the water heater serviced at Camping World and they said it checked out fine. When we're fully connected the water heater fires but no hot water. Is there a lever or switch I can turn to access the hot water? We'd be grateful for any help you guys can give us.
Thanks,
BusyTexans

Hello BusyTexans and . We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
I do not know of what floor plan you have but if the water heater is located in the right rear of the coach look for access panel through or under the closet to get you to the back side of water heater. If you have a 1/2 bath look in that vanity cabinet for the by-pass valve.

Go on-line and download the manuals you need. You most likely have a bypass valve ( for winterizing) in the by pass position. If you tried to run the electric water for more than a minite w/o water in the tank, chances are you burned out the heating element and it will have to be replaced. I would go after Camping World if they checked it and said it worked.

Hi BusyTexans. When you say no hot water do you mean that NO water comes out the hot water faucet OR only cold water comes out the hot water faucet?

Make sure the valves are in the off position on the outside shower. I'm assuming you're getting water just not getting hot water.

Same thing happened to us when we bought our coach. Took me 3 days to find out the water heater bypass valve was turned off. Go to your water service panel in side one of your bay doors. Find the valve handle marked "Water heater bypass". Turn it the other way. That lets water to your water heater.

For clarity, the water heater bypass valve should be closed and the valve(s) in the water heater supply and discharge lines (if equipped with both) should be open during normal operation.

Your water heater may be equiped with a mixing valve. It's located on the back of the heater and is prone to failure. I had mine replaced in January.

Sorry for just now getting back with everyone who responded with help with our lack of hot water... Our coach was in storage. The hot water is working great after turning the valve in the closet. Without your help, we would NEVER thought of looking there. Even called two maintenance facilities and they said I would have to bring it to be checked out. Imagine that?
Thanks Again, Busy Texans
