Noisy Water Pump
Hi,
Does anyone have any simple suggestions for quieting a water pump? Mine sounds like an angry bear in the plumbing bay. I am considering wrapping some foam insulation around it, but don't know if that might cause a heat problem. Any ideas?

Add a stack of rubber washers or spacers between the pump and the wall it is mounted to. Anything you can put the screws thru to pad the pump.

If its connected to pex ( plastic ) lines, add soft flex lines to the in and out.
I added an accumulator tank that quieted it a bit and it runs less.

First suggestion is to try and isolate the pump from any solid structure in the RV. Mount the pump on rubber pads, for example, or to a separate piece of plywood that you can isolate from the RV. Possibly, move the location of the pump from a ceiling or wall to the floor of the bay.
Second, make sure all hoses connecting to the pump are flexible and not rigid pipe. If the pump is connected to rigid pipes, add a small section of flexible hose between the pump connections and the pipes.

I agree with mounting pump on iso pads and a accumulator would be a big help if you do not have one. Might also use Dyna Mat insulation on walls and ceiling of pump area, great sound deadener.

+2. IT HELPS, but I'm not sure you can ever get it quite. I also added a mouse pad under the pump.

Flex lines and isolate the mounting. Bolts / screws through feet should not be the mounting to the RV.
A couple pieces of unreinforced hose is a popular and effective mounting used on boats.

I changed pumps. I started with a 45 PSI 2.5 gpm pump, and replaced it with a remco 55 psi, 5gpm pump. Wow was it loud. Went back to the smaller pump.

Put rubber vibration dampers on both sides of the mounting tabs not just underneath; otherwise the mounting bolt/screw is metal to metal to the mounting tab and the surface to which it is mounted.
My water pump cannot be heard running from inside the coach or standing beside the wet bay.

The mounting screws get loose.
Also you can add some rubber between the mount and the RV
