I'm not sure I understand why you joined the class if you love your Norcold and it works perfectly. Lawsuits are brought to compensate people for harm caused by others, and in your case there has been no harm. But the over-compensated lawyers negotiated to allow people who have suffered no harm to be compensated, as well. Sounds like a cause for gratitude.

Rec'd my 1st of 4 today. I've been a claimant on only 1 other CAL where I rec'd a payment in this large of amount. I guess Hades does freeze over every once in a while.

In answer to your snarky comments: Yes, I do want the lawyers ti take the case. My issue with them is when they take 70% of the claim for themselves. The injured party should receive more than the lawyers, imo.

To adress your second snarky comment: One did not have to prove they had suffered any harm or damages in order to participate in the suit. The intent of the suit was to compensate for damages either incurred or may be incurred in the future. It also compensates for loss of value due to the many misinformed people that do not understand the problems with some NorCold units and the hundreds of thousands that are trouble free.

Hope this helps in your understanding.

Yes! I also just got a check for $228.90 first installment of four more to come since my Norcold 1200 LRIM fell within the serial numbers listed.

I thank who ever was involved on helping RVers who have been affected by this faulty problem on the Norcold 1200 LRIM.

Where do you get 70%? I'm looking at the court documents at https://www.norcoldclassaction.com/docs.aspx

They say the total is $36 million, of which the lawyers get $9 million, which is the standard 25% (and includes expenses, which they wouldn't have been reimbursed for if they hadn't won).

And the lawyers are paid in four installments, just like the class participants.

[moderator edit] Further any attorney fee would be reviewed and approved by a court who limit the fee if they felt it was excessive and did not reflect the value of the work performed.

I'm out of luck. When I entered my serial# the website would not accept my serial number; said "not included". Found out yesterday it was included. Too late!
