Oasis Heating Question

Have an Oasis Chinook and ceiling heat pumps. For heat I know I can use the ceiling Heat Pumps. I also know I can run the Oasis diesel burner for furnace heat. Question: Can I run the Oasis for furnace heat without the diesel burner on, meaning using the Oasis in electric mode only?

Yes, you can.

One thing to understand is the amount of heat you'll get. I use small 1500 watt tower electric heaters quite a bit. 1500 watts is about the limit on 120V circuit. They produce a little over 5000 btu of heat. Your Oasis electric heater is also a 1500 watt heater and will produce the same amount of heat. Some larger units may have two electric heaters in them so will produce twice the heat.

Your Oasis on diesel will produce somewhere in the area of 50,000 to 55,000 btu's of heat. Not at all in the same class when it comes to producing heat.

In colder weather, the electric elements won't keep up and the blowers throughout the coach will continue to run without cycling off. You can turn on both electric elements and diesel burner. The electric elements will help some, reducing some of the diesel use.
