2 boxes (3 - 1 gallon jugs each box) of Delo 400 15-40 from Costco. Check it before adding the last gallon, it may only need 1/2 of it.

Hi cseidel,
22 or 24 quarts. It depends on the oil pan size, there are two different size/capacity oil pans. AF4J's post has it correct. Put in 20 quarts and be careful with the last gallon. You may not need all of it.

Oil capacity

If you have an apple device (iPhone or iPad) you can go to "quickserveonline" and download the app. Once you open the app just type in your engine serial number and it will tell you everything about your engine, when and where it was made, part numbers, fault code analyzer etc..and the oil capacities. Gary is correct, some Cummins engines have different oil pans for the same engine and it lists the capacities for both.

On my M11 it lists the regular oil pan at 8 gallons, the deep oil pan at 9 gallons. That is just the oil pan capacity...then you have to figure out how much your filters will hold. Once you figure all this out you can calibrate your dipstick. Some are off!
