theres a tube in the tank that is lifted to 1/4 of the tank...

If you went through a rain storm you may have had the air intake suck in water and the air filter is now wet.
This is a fix most of us did.
This is the control behind the air filter air passes through before engine. If its wet you get the light.

It's been a busy day. Got a tow to safe place to wait for mobile mechanic tomorrow.

Some symptoms are similar to those low voltage problems described above. But my batteries all have good voltage, about 12.4.

Its behavior reminds me of cars I've had In which the main control computer fries. All kinds of weird behavior. Low batt can look like a bad computer, but mine seem ok.

Since both engines have failed, suspect something common to both engines.

Fuel

Battery voltage possible, if your generator runs off of chassis battery.

Just had the same thing happen to us on the way to Az
1st changed the 3 fuel filters, Didn't help
2. checked plugs wires and Dist. cap , rotor had some build up did R&R No luck.
3rd Called tow truck to get us off hwy.

Day 2 called a service Tec to come to the rescue.
Replaced fuel pump No help at first,
What is was is the tank switch/ valve under the coach that switches the tanks from front to back. It was telling me that the tanks had switched even the gauges read that they switched, but they hadn't. So in the end the rear tank 70 gallon was full and the front 30 gallon tank was empty. We added 5 gallons of gas to front tank and after turning it over several times and using starting fluid the pump picked up the gas and she fired off. Got her to the pumps and filled her up and we made it the next day to Yuma. Now just have to find the valve.

The same thing happened to my parents diesel rig. The problem was they never knew they had a 2nd fuel filter, and that was the cause. But, I don't think the OP has a diesel...

Somewhere this is either a fuel delivery problem or electrical..

Will report tomorrow. Electronic problem almost surely at this point, and a good chance the ECM is fried. Lots of stuff acting erratically, occasional nonsense on dash display.

More later ..

I have had two GM vehicles behave like you describe. Mine died as I was driving and after pulling to the side of the road tried to restart. The engine would barely run coughing and sputtering. The problem was the coolant sensor which communicates with the ecm. An ohm check verified that this sensor was bad. Not having a spare sensor I bent a paper clip and inserted it into the coolant sensor plug completing the circuit. The engine started ran normally and I drove to an auto parts store and bought a new sensor for $20 and was on my way. This very same thing also happened while driving my 5.7l powered pickup at a later time, only it would not fire at all until the paper clip was installed.
If it is a bad coolant sensor, you will see some black exhaust coming out of the tailpipe while it is chugging away. With a bad sensor the ecm translates this to a -46 degrees temp and will flood the engine with fuel. Good luck to you.

P.S. I have never had a scanner but will shop for one now, might make diagnosing a little quicker. I spent a couple hours diagnosing the coolant sensor the first time, because all I had was the service manual and a volt/ohm meter.

Seems we have a couple of threads going on here. Anyway, this shop says I have a bad throttle body. Part on its way. Can a bad TB cause all that disruption in instrument display, etc.?

Throttle position sensor can cause issues and won't let any power to be applied if it is providing bad data to the ECM. The throttle body actuator can also cause similar issues since it is fly by wire.

Evidently they were right. New TB installed and I've been happily driving homeward for about the last 6 hrs. Everything back to normal. Much more to the story but I'm tired and need to get home.

More later. ..
