Onan 5500 HGJAB Runs Rich At Startup

It starts up fine, but runs choked/rich for about 3 minutes. I usually shut it down after that and restart. Upon restart, I don't have the problem. I watched the choke, it appears to be operating properly at startup, which the book says almost closed. Any ideas of what could be causing this? I ran a tank full which had sea foam, took off the fuel hose to the genny and filled it with carb. cleaner then ran it, squirted carb. cleaner into the throttle body. Thanks.

Sounds to me like your choke is set to rich. You should be able to back off the tension a bit, which will allow the choke to open sooner.

Turned out to be the choke pull off, a $40 part.
