Onan Generator Fuel pump

I live in New Brunswick Canada and have a Onan Marquis 7000 gen set Model #7NHMFA26106F and have no fuel flow at the carb when cranking. I assume my fuel pump needs replacement. Is anyone aware of third party fuel pumps that would work for me? Appreciate your help.

Before you buy a new one you can test the current one. Disconnect hose from fuel pump to tank. Then run a short fuel line from pump to a gas can and see if it will pull gas.

If there is a crack in the fuel line going to the tank the pump can't pull a vacuum and suck fuel up.

You should be able to pick one up at any auto parts store ( Napa, Parts source , Canadian tire .....). Take your old one in so they can get the correct fittings for the fuel line. The pressure should be in the 3 to 7psi range. Replaced mine 2 yrs ago and not a problem since.
I did test the pump , and it seemed to work Ok. For some reason , it did notwork properly on the generator. Change your fuel filter at the same time.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I would disconnect the fuel line to the pump to be sure you are getting fuel to the pump. Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Onan does not manufacture that pump. It is a very common fuel pump used in other applications.
It should be a small rectangular shape and like the other guys said, will be available at any NAPA store. I paid less than $20 for it.

Make sure it has power going to it as well. They wont work without power. I found mine had a broken ground wire on the pump. Easy fix.

If you can't find the pump at an auto parts store, get the model number off of it and do a search on Amazon. I bought an AirTex brand pump on Amazon for the Onan 5500 in our Itasca for about $40 with free shipping. AirTex makes the pumps for Onan.

I took mine off and threw it away. I installed a nipple - 1/4" pipe thread which a 1/4" fuel line slips onto to replace the original filter and installed a fuel filter in line just ahead of the fuel pump in the inlet line from the fuel tank. Cost was less than $10. for everything including the filter which was around $3.00. Now the fuel pump is protected as well as the carb.
Onan wanted $30.00 for the original filter replacement.

The adapter I used is 1/8" Pipe thread, not 1/4" like I said in my previous post.
By the time I discovered my error in information the time to edit had expired.
