Onan generator starts only when the abeant tep is low. My thoughts are the govenor

My onan only starts whet outside temperatures are low. The throttle opens wide open and it starts. When it gets in the 80s throttle doesn't move and it wont start. My guess is the governor module is bad

Are you looking at the throttle or the choke ?

If the choke isn't set right it can be to rich when warm and not start.

Anytime the engine is at less then its RPMs, the governor is going to keep the throttle wide open.

The choke butterfly is temp controlled with outside air and a heating coil on some.

I would start with the choke. See if you have a winter/summer setting> if no luck that the air cleaner off and manually activate the choke. Might be good to tell us what generator you have.
