Onan Oil Filter

I have a Onan QD6000 HDKAH spec N 6000 watt gen set on the motor home. Bought oil filter at Cummins #122-0833 same one listed in my manual but it's larger than the one on the gen set. Any ideas what's going on?

Is the one on there also an Onan filter? Or some other brand? Substitute filters are always identical shape and size, even they they have equivalent filtering capability.
Can you read the brand and filter number?

I also have a Onan QD6000 generator. When I replaced the filter for the first time with the listed Cummins filter - I did notice the outside diameters were different (don't remember the actual difference) - the factory installed filter had no markings that were visible - installed the Cummins filter and have had no leaks (just wish it was a little easier to get to). Seems I read similar threads concerning this issue on this or another site. Good Luck.

I remember my first oil change and the factory filter was smaller than the replacement. No worries if the gasket area is the same as the one you took off.

The current filter was factory installed. I haven't removed it yet due to the physical size but sounds like the seal of the filter may be the same.
Thanks to everyone for the information.
