Onan QD generator oil change

I just changed oil and all info says it takes three qts oil with filter but mine seems to need 1/2 qd more any thoughts?

Mine always takes around 3 1/2 quarts when I change it.

Thanks I didn't want to overfill oil.

My QD8000 takes 3 qts plus 5oz to get the dip stick
to read full. Go figure.....

If you are filling the filter with oil it should then take 3.0 quarts.
