No picture, but I bet it could be cleaned, and will work just fine.

I have done a number of them for freinds that didn't exercise the gensets for long periods.

I hope the pictures are available!

If you could explain to me how the carburetor works I may be able to fix it.

The round box gets very hot, I believe maybe malfunctioning.

Greetings,
I looked up your part number for your carb and found the website below showing they have it in stock. You might want to check it out to verify.
Safe travels and enjoy the ride,
Herb Richards

https://www.partsfortechs.com/asapca...roducts_id=966 also shows 2 in stock at the moment, they are a good company to deal with, tend to ship right away, etc. and are helpful when it comes to support questions.

Onan Parts also shows 2 in stock https://onanparts.com/index.php?main...e&keyword=0664

They specialize in hard to find parts for older Onan generators, particularly engine rebuild parts. Its a one man shop so check out the vacation schedule at the top of the page before ordering from there, otherwise another good place to deal with.

The round piece with a wire connector is the electric choke, there is a heater inside it, it's supposed to get hot to open the choke after the engine runs.

Great
And my carburetor I see just one wire coming out, I believe the carburetor is running fine the problem it is with this component, do you believe that I can purchase separately.
The new carburetors has two wires! It make more sense.

I'm going to make more pictures and post it for you to analyze.
Thank you!

That U Tube video is wrong !!

The solenoid is an anti dieseling or run on control that blocks all gas flow when you shut the generator off. No gas, no run on.

Gas is drawn up from the bowl, not pumped. Its called the venturi effect, the basis of all carburators.

If you turn off the sound, its a better way to watch.

it's fuel shut off valve. it gets hot, because its turned on when the gen is running. fuel is pumped to the carb bowl, then the venturi effect takes place.
remove the carb, take it apart, and soak it in sea foam fuel system cleaner. blow thru the fuel jets, reassemble it, install it, and the problem should be solved.

I linked the video so the OP could see how to clean his carb, it was the first one I found that looked like his carb. The op said in the picture he posted, the electric choke was hot. That's normally how bi-metal electric chokes work. I didn't see a solenoid on the op's carb. I also didn't watch all the video for errors. Have a great day.

"The choke consists of a bi-metal coil, an electronic heating element, and a choke pulloff diaphragm. The coil is connected to the choke shaft, and holds the choke plate nearly closed when engine is cold. When the engine starts, vacuum from intake manifold causes the pulloff diaphragm to pull in and PARTIALLY open the choke. As engine runs , electric current is supplied to the heating element . Heat from the element causes the bimetal strip to coil. The coiling action of the bi-metal strip turns the choke shaft and gradually opens the choke plate. Heat from the element keeps the choke open while engine is running."
