Opinion on basement compartment slide
Looking at a Mor/ryde Cargo Tray to put in the basement of my Fleetwood Discovery.
Any opinions on quality of the tray. Thanks

I think the MorRyde slides are excellent quality, but if you are handy and have a power saw, you can make your own very easily. I bought three sets of 500lb 36" heavy duty full extension drawer slides, one sheet of 5/8" plywood, some 1x pine and made three slide out trays for less than what one of the pre-made units cost. Total cost for all three was under $400. The trays are 32" wide x 44" deep and are fastened to the basement floor with simple angle brackets.

Once you have the slide out tray, you will wonder how you ever got along without it. You can load a lot of stuff and have it at hand pretty quick. I installed Joey Beds in our coach.

Such trays are great. I have one full width sliding tray - slides out either side. Can't put tall items on it because everything has to be able to duck under the frame rails. I think two trays, one on each side, would be better as then tall items could be placed to the front of the tray.

We have 2 full trays in our basement and we love them. Ours are "Joey Beds".

Be aware if you get two sliders, you will lose considerable storage space. The areas on both sides of the sliders is unusable.

I understand, our Phaeton had sliders in each compartment. In my opinion, the positives out weigh the negative. That being said, I'll probably do one compartment at a time.

Maximum Usage
We still use the storage on both sides of the slides. It just has to be 6"s wide. That means a lot of little things can go there.

How do you determine the max width of slide tray I can use? The bottom of my Discovery doors openings are curved.

We had one installed on our 2013 Berkshire and honestly, I love it.
No more crawling into the compartment to retrieve stuff.
Saves the knees and back.
