Anyone using the otr diagnostics with samsung android internet, I just got one and it won't connect to the internet. It keeps saying app must connect to internet.

Do you mean an OBD? Did you plug in the dongle? I assume you have a gas mh?? What is the make of your old device. Did you download the app? Is your Bluetooth turned on in your android device?

I assume you are talking about the engine diagnostic tool from OTR Diagnostics? What is it that "can't connect"? The OTR smart phone app or the adapter for the vehicle?

Have you checked the set-up and used some other device to see if it can mate to whatever internet source is available? And have you contacted OTR for advice?

It's the diagnostics tool. The app will not connect to internet. The adapter appears fine. When I click the app it starts searching and then it says app must be connected to internet. I have been working with otr for 3 days and they can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Does the Android device you are attempting to use have internet connectivity, either by WiFi or cellular, outside the app?

What hardware, EXACTLY, are you using?

What vehicle/chassis are you wishing to connect to?

Basic info is needed.

I have a similar app (actually 2) that needs internet connectivity while opening a session, and I am using Android. In the past there have been connectivity issues. One time it fixed itself after I updated the Android OS. Another issue can be that your phone may be connecting to a network and not allowing the OTR software to connect, some apps need to connect to your phone with WIFI and can't do it if you are connected to another network. Did you try going into your network settings and looking for the app?
I also see on their site they are working on V2 for Android, maybe that will help. Unfortunately problems can also arise if your phone or tablet is too old for the latest OS updates.
I'm not too crazy about these internet based automotive apps but the ones I have were cheap, less than $70. For what OTR charges you should get pretty good support.
