outside awning

Hi, i have a 05 Mountain Aire 4304 with weather pro awning. 1st question, What are the rubber tabs on the end of the roller on the awning that slide up and down the roller for? They are not strong enough to hold lights but i know they have a reason. Q2, Have some of you hung lights around your awning and is there an easy way to get them up there and then back down? Q3 Does anyone make a screen kit that would go around the awning and keep the bugs out so that someone can sit under the awning and enjoy the weather? Thanks for any insight!

Q2. I put an LED strip on the bottom of the awning housing. It doesnt move out with the edge of the awning (its stationary) but provides plenty of light on the patio. Ran the power from 12v in the kitchen side over the top of the slide.

Q3. I believe Shadepro may make awning extensions that go around Carefree awnings. Not sure about your brand.
